Due to the student market the majority of apartments and rental houses in West Campus or North Campus are secured many months in advance. For example, most students will locate and secure housing for fall 2010 semester as early as October 2009 thru February 2010.

Another option that has become a trend for students in the past two years is renting in Downtown Austin. The UT Shuttles have several bus routes that run through the center of Downtown Austin daily and the rent, in some cases, is comparable to West Campus.
